Willa's Blog- Our week!

Hi I'm Willa, and I'm Evelyn. Today we'll be talking to you about math. In this picture Ben R., Landon, Preston, and Gio are playing Multiplication Spiral. Gio says " I won!" Ben R. Says "Ben is awesome!" In the second picture Marie, Sean, Evelyn, and Keagan are working on their math project. Evelyn says " In our project we are planning a fun trip to Hollywod!"

Shhh! Trinity (on top) is quietly reading The Yeti Files, and Oni Lee (on bottom) is reading Tiny Titans.

Something else exciting about our class, is that we are participating in the kindness challenge, there are several different things you can do. One of the things our class is doing is we are filling up a jar with buttons. Each button stands for one act of kindness. For example, this morning Cora put my computer away for me, so I put a button in the jar. When our class fills up the jar And Mrs. Donze takes a picture of it, she will send it to a website, and we will become a certified kind classroom. We have already 16 buttons in the jar! Our class is hoping to see. The movie Wonder for a reward for being a certified kind classroom.

Today in science we played a little game it was called Oh Deer! In the game we started out with four groups. One group was deer. One group was shelter. One was water, and the last group was food. All of the resources stood in one line facing away from the deer in the other line. The deer had to find either water, food, or shelter to stay alive. If you were water, you would put your hands on your mouth. If you were food, you would put your hands on your stomach. If you were shelter, you would make a triangle above your head with your arms. When Mrs. Donze said go, you would quickly turn around and try to find your match. If you did, you became a deer, if you did not, you would die as a deer, and become a resource. Eventually there was a predator. The predator wold find deer. If the tagged the deer before they got to their recourse, then that deer would become a predator. This game is supposed to teach us that we need a balanced environment. For example if the weren't that many predators, then the deer would overpopulate and TAKE OVER THE WORLD! Just kidding. The same thing would happen if there were too many deer. Overall this was a fun activity.
