Elli and Cora's Blog- US Regions Project

Hi!!! It's Ellie and Cora we are bloggers of the week. This week we are doing a project on our regions. 

Mrs.Donze assigned  us a region and a partner to work with!!! Then we all picked a state some picked New York and others picked road island. We evening used vanilla folders as suitcases and decorated them with "bumper stickers". This project helps us know state trees, state flowers, state flags and state  birds. When were finished we will get to share a presentation with our partners to the whole class!!! We are working really hard with our partners an Mrs.Donze can not wait to see our creations!!!!!😀

#ChooseKind- Student Precepts

Our class has taken the challenge of becoming a "Certified Kind" classroom!  Becoming a "Certified Kind" classroom is connected to the book and upcoming movie, Wonder.  We will be doing a few activities to help us reach "Certified Kind" status and one of them is choosing a precept. Simply put, precepts are principles to live by.  In Wonder, Auggie’s English teacher, Mr. Browne, introduces students to his love of precepts.  I challenged my class to choose a word they want to focus on this year.  A word that is important to them.  Then students worked to find a quote that connected to their word and matched what they felt.  I LOVED seeing their work take shape!  Check out their final product below! #choosekind

Eclipse

I hope everyone was able to head outside and see the solar eclipse today!  It was out of this world  ;) .  Our class had a great time making observations throughout the day and then seeing the total eclipse. Thank you to all the parents who came to share the experience with your child! 

First two days!

We had a busy first two days!  Students helped create our class mission statement, discussed what it means to be a leader, and completed a STEM activity!  We also started to get organized :)  Looking forward to a fantastic year!
