Today we had our Literacy Festival. Students participated in a variety of activities focused on reading and writing. We started our day with an presentation by Michael Rex! He is the author of
Fangbone, Goodnight Goon, and his new series
Icky Ricky. He taught us how to add humor in our writing. Students made a drawing and added funny sayings to tell about the picture. We then heard a story from Mrs. Nelson-Link. She read a story called
Catching the Moon. In the afternoon we went out to our new courtyard to pick out books and read. The students picked out two books to keep! We then wrote thank you notes for our presenters. Great day!
